This poem Christine B expresses how she feels about inner beauty. She explains that inner beauty cannot be compared to the outer shell. I chose to show this poem because it gives the reader a good message and it talks about the truth. Christine B wants to show the world that just because you may be pretty on the outside doesn't mean that's the only thing that matters, what matters most is who you are inside.

True Beauty

There is a light that shines from within
Every living creature known,
And if we look for it close enough
That special light will to us be shown.

Appearances of the outer shell,
Are simply places that house the light;
What matters most is what shines from within—
The only beauty that gleams so bright.

So search for the splendor that comes from within
And don’t be fooled by what only eyes can scout;
For there can be no beauty on any face
Unless it emanates from the inside out

I like this poem by Christine B. My favorite part in this poem is when she said, " What matters most is what shines from within—The only beauty that gleams so bright". I like the way that this shows that appearance isn't everything. Yes you may be beautiful on the outside but what do you look on the inside? In my opinion this poem makes who ever is reading it question whether their beauty is within or the outer shell. I love the Christine B also uses repetition on the word "within". Its helps show that the beauty "within" is more important than how you look.

I like how you focused on the repetition of "within" to support the theme you liked so much.

I like how you focused mostly on the inner beauty. It reminds me of a song by my favorite band called Pretty on the Outside-Bullet for my Valentine.
