Nathan Lopes is the writer for the poem. In this poem he expresses how he feels towards fairy tales.

I had some hope,
Had a dream,
Had it lost,
Somewhere between,
A happy start,
And an early end,
It's hardly easy,
She's hardly a friend,
More like an almost,
An almost love you,
And almost ever after,
that almost came true,
but she's no Cinderella,
'less 12's on the clock,
And I'm barely too late,
Just a tick or a tock,
But I was never a prince,
Tho try as I might,
I'd misplaced the armor,
That made me her knight,
But I hate stories,
Not 'cause they're pretend,
Not 'cause they're happy,
But 'cause they all end,
So I'll be realistic,
No once upon a time,
Just simple like words,
Just like this rhyme,
Just know in person,
I won't always be there,
But watching and waiting,
In thought and in prayer,
So if you ever see her,
Tell her I tried,
Tell her I'm with her,
If not right by her side,
Tell her I'm the one guy,
She can count on to stay.
Tell her she's safe,
And I'm only one call away!

The reason why I chose this poem is because i like poems that rhyme. This poem rhymes almost about every other line. To me, this poem is basically saying that people hope to have this fairy tale life, but in reality, there's no such thing. The tone in this poem is calm, and in a good mood.
